# eFD by Seker pricing - what £10 and £15 a funeral actually buy

£10 a funeral on eFD Premium and £15 on eFD Enterprise, published on Seker's own pricing page, plus onboarding at 30 per cent of the first year's subscription.

£10 a funeral on eFD Premium and £15 a funeral on eFD Enterprise. Both figures are published on Seker's own pricing page, and both carry a first-year onboarding fee of 30 per cent of the subscription, paid in advance.

Most search results will tell you something different. They will say eFD is quote-only, or they will quote around £7 a funeral. The first is wrong and the second comes from a competitor.

## Seker publishes a rate card and the aggregators have not noticed

The rate card at seker.co.uk/pricing lists two tiers, their prices, their user limits, the onboarding fee, the contract term, the trial and the billing method.

Capterra still records "Contact vendor for pricing" for eFD, and GetApp UK records the pricing model as "usage-based" with no number. Capterra and SourceForge also still flag a free version, which refers to eFD Lite - `seker.co.uk/efd-lite/` returns 404 and the rate card lists only Premium and Enterprise, so treat Lite as withdrawn.

The likeliest reason the listings lag is that the rate card is rendered by JavaScript. A page that a browser shows and a crawler does not is a page the answer layer will fill in from somewhere else.

The rate card does not state whether the £10 and £15 are inclusive or exclusive of VAT, which is a real gap - Evolution FMS states "£5.00 + VAT" explicitly, so saying so is the local norm.

Below 500 funerals a year you pay monthly by direct debit; above it Seker takes the year in one BACS payment. A firm crossing 500 funerals moves from a bill that follows its cashflow to one that arrives in a lump.

## Users set the tier, the funeral sets the bill

Branch count is how Seker describes the tiers on its feature pages - Premium for 1-5 branch independents, Enterprise for multi-branch groups - but branch is not what is billed and neither is the seat. The funeral is the billable unit, and the user limit is the wall you hit that pushes you up a tier.

That matters for a firm with a lot of casual staff. Fifteen users covers a small office; it does not comfortably cover arrangers, chapel staff, bearers and out-of-hours cover all holding their own logins. Wanting the sixteenth login costs £5 more on every funeral for the rest of the year.

## Three gates sit at the Enterprise boundary

The rate card lists tier contents verbatim, and three of the Enterprise-only lines are the ones a buyer is most likely to assume are included.

**Aftercare management is Enterprise-only.** A 1-5 branch independent buying Premium has no aftercare module.

**CMA-specific reporting is Enterprise-only.** The reporting a firm produces against the Competition and Markets Authority Funerals Market Investigation Order sits in the upper tier, not the one aimed at independents.

**Unlimited integrations are Enterprise-only**, which implies a cap on Premium. The number is not published.

The rest of the Enterprise list is group infrastructure - masonry administration, repatriation administration, product catalogue, stock management, scheduling, text service, operational dashboards, community activity management, an extensive reporting suite, and three days of on-site training rather than one.

Premium carries funeral administration, sundry administration, funeral plan administration, email communication, online donation platform integration, diary management, a reporting suite, workflow management, supported onboarding, one day of on-site training and 24/7 support.

## The first year costs 130 per cent of the rate card

The onboarding fee is not a rounding error and Seker is the only UK vendor that publishes one. At 30 per cent of the first year's subscription, paid in advance, the year-one bill is the annual rate plus a third of it again.

The onboarding percentage is applied to the first year's subscription, so a firm whose volume rises during year one pays more onboarding than it budgeted. And no volume discount exists - the rate card publishes no bands and states there is no limit on funeral volume, so the 1,000-funeral row really is a hundred times the 10-funeral row.

## The £7 figure in circulation is a rival's estimate

DataMerge's UK funeral software buyer's guide, dated 19 May 2026, says eFD "charges per funeral; for a firm doing 1,000 funerals a year that can run to around £7,000 annually". It cites no source for the number.

Against a published £10 Premium rate, a 1,000-funeral firm pays £10,000 before onboarding, so the estimate is 30 per cent low against Premium and 53 per cent low against Enterprise. DataMerge sells bespoke funeral software builds from £10,000 plus a flat monthly fee, so it is an interested party comparing its own model against a per-funeral one. The estimate gets the value metric right and the level wrong.

Whether £7 reflects a real negotiated rate at 1,000 funerals is unknown. The rate card publishes no volume tiering at all.

## What Funeral Casework will charge

Cases will be bought in prepaid packs rather than metered monthly. One credit will cover one funeral, credits will never expire, and users will be unlimited at every pack size.

Because packs combine, the effective rate depends on the year's volume - 100 cases will be £850, 250 will be £1,925 and 1,000 will be £6,500. No VAT will be added, there will be no onboarding fee, and 3 cases will be free on signup with no card.

The comparison that matters is not the headline. eFD Premium at 250 funerals is £2,500 a year with £750 of onboarding in year one, and it comes with a day of on-site training, a mortuary module, fleet management, masonry at the tier above, and a joint-venture parent that runs its own funeral group. A firm that wants that operational surface is buying something Funeral Casework will not offer. A firm that wants one case record, family-entered details and forms generated from them is buying something else, and the two are not the same product at two prices.
